Know your neighbour campaign

Macra na Feirme has recently launched a campaign, in association with Calor, encouraging people to reach out to their neighbours this winter.

The campaign urges people to check on their neighbours, especially those who are vulnerable or elderly.

As the evenings grow darker we are less likely to bump into neighbours and it’s important that we make an extra effort with our more vulnerable neighbours, Macra Na Feirme National President, Sean Finan said.

A recent survey carried out by Macra shows that for over a quarter of people, loneliness is the biggest fear about growing old in their community.
